Chapter II

The price, and where it comes from

The Every Door Direct Mail® Retail price isn't in the mailing rules. DMM 143.1.1 points to Notice 123, the USPS price list. Here's what that list says today.

Current to November 7, 2026

Notice 123 · effective October 4, 2026

$0.260

per EDDM-Retail flat, up to 3.3 oz

What the price covers

Postage for one EDDM Retail flat up to 3.3 ounces, delivered to one address on a route you selected. That's all.

It doesn't cover printing, design, bundling supplies or the trip to the Post Office. There are no annual or presort fees for Retail (143.1.2), so postage is the only USPS charge.

The BMEU prices

EDDM sent as a bulk mailing through a Business Mail Entry Unit uses USPS Marketing Mail commercial flat prices, by entry point:

EntryFlats 4 oz or less
No destination entry$0.309
DSCF$0.268
DDU$0.259

BMEU mailers also pay a $390 annual Marketing Mail fee, and $390 to apply for a permit imprint.

When it changes

USPS publishes price changes as a new edition of Notice 123 with an effective date. The current one took effect October 4, 2026. We record each verified change in the change log.
